Please organize and label all files accurately and place them together in one zipped folder. If you have trouble following these directions, no worries we’ll figure it out when the time comes. Use www.wetransfer.com for all file transfers. If the files exceed 2GB, maybe bounce some tracks down so there are fewer stems to mix, or send in 2 separate transfers installments.
PREPARING TO SEND Song to MIX
Print any crucial plugins (amp sims, sound design, distortion, creative EQ) -anything that you don’t want changed or removed in the mix. Anything that is part of the sound of the production, keep! Stand by your creative choices :)
Remove “mixing” EQ, Compression and FFX, if you don’t think they are improving the sound.
Print MIDI as audio
Include a rough mix of the production (whereever you left off)
If you were using drum buses/vocal buses etc. then either print individual tracks before they hit the bus compressor or print each through the bus separately. In some cases just print a STEM of the bus, but know that I won’t be able to go in and change anything about the balance etc later.
I need separate files for KICK SNARE BASS DRY LEAD VOCAL and LEAD MELODIC INSTRUMENTS. Please separate out important keys and guitars and percussion from each other if you aren’t 100% sure of the blend you have.
Each different sound gets it’s own channel unless you want me to treat it as one loop. That goes for if the snare sound on the verse an chorus is different give me the snare on 2 different tracks because I will prob need to treat them differently.
Bounce each track starting at THE EXACT SAME PLACE 00:00 at the very start of the session all the way until the end of the session
Export all labeled tracks as 24 bit .wav files into one folder
zip folder
send folder via www.wetransfer.com or dropbox.
